Made from natural Pino Sandstone® – for a reason

At Pino, we weren’t satisfied with the typical pet bowls you find everywhere:

• Plastic bowls made from PVC, PP, melamine or (HD)PE easily slide around and tend to absorb odors over time. They may also contain potentially harmful or hormone-disrupting substances that can trigger allergic reactions in pets – such as BPA, phthalates (plasticisers), or formaldehyde.
• Ceramics look nice but are easy to break – often into sharp pieces. This can be dangerous if your pet accidentally swallows a shard or cut himself.
• Bowls made from bamboo, coconut or rice fibres often contain only 30–40% natural fibre. The remainder is usually plastic such as melamine or PP. The viscose (rayon) fibres are typically extracted through chemical processes that may release toxic substances like carbon disulphide or sulphuric acid.
• Metal bowls can be noisy, feel cold to the touch and may startle sensitive animals. Cheap metal bowls may even contain lead – a neurotoxic substance that accumulates in the body and is especially harmful to young animals.

That’s why we developed our own natural material: Pino Sandstone® – an innovative material that solves all these issues:

• Pino bowls are heavy and sturdy, so they stay in place and are not chewable – even with the most enthusiastic eaters.
• The non-porous surface doesn’t absorb bad smells or bacteria, making meals more appealing and smelling fresh to enjoy.
• Our bowls are safe for pets with allergies or sensitive skin because Pino Sandstone® is free from BPA, phthalates, formaldehyde and of course lead – because health comes first.

Pino Sandstone® is made primarily from natural sand, with only a small percentage of natural pigments and a structural component. The material is uniquely developed by us. It's also a conscious, environmentally friendly choice. By working with natural raw materials, we reduce our ecological footprint and create bowls that truly last.

Each bowl is handmade in Belgium. Small variations in shape, colour or subtle air bubbles are part of its artisanal nature – and make every bowl unique.

• Dishwasher safe at 30°C on the top rack — also easy to clean by hand
• Perfect for wet food, kibble, or water — whatever your furry friend prefers.
• Fridge-friendly, so you can prep meals in advance or keep leftovers fresh.
• Not suitable for the microwave — our natural material doesn’t like it too hot.
• Finished with a non-slip base, so mealtime stays clean (and quiet).

• Every Pino bowl is handmade in Belgium in collaboration with a social enterprise. People with a distance to the labor market work in a warm, supportive environment where they learn artisanal skills and grow in confidence.
• We produce locally and in small batches to avoid overproduction and reduce transport emissions. 70% of our materials are sourced in Belgium, the rest within Europe.
• Our bowls are built to last — durable, odor-free, and resistant to daily use. Also our packaging is fully recyclable and plastic-free.

• We offer free shipping on all orders over €75 within Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg — just our way of saying thanks.
• Not quite the perfect match? No worries — you can return or exchange your item within 14 days of delivery. And yes, returns are free in BE, NL, DE and LUX too.
• You can expect your order at your door within 3 to 5 working days — safely packed.
• We ship most of our orders within Europe via GLS - in 98% of the cases, carefully shipped.
