FAQs
🐾 Product Information
Where are PINO bowls made?
All Pino bowls are handcrafted in Belgium in a social enterprise. Every bowl is made with care by people distanced from the regular labour market. The sand used comes from the Belgian Kempen region.
What material are they made from?
PINO Sandstone® is mainly composed of natural sand, with minimal additions of natural pigments and stabilising elements. It's non-reactive, hypoallergenic, and safe.
· Hypoallergenic & non-toxic
· Odour-free
· Durable & eco-conscious
Are the bowls safe for pets with allergies?
Yes. Due to their high natural sand content, Pino bowls are naturally hypoallergenic and contain no harmful substances like BPA or phthalates.
Are the bowls dishwasher-safe?
The 2025 collection is:
- Top rack only
- Low temperature (30–45°C)
Older collections should be hand-washed to prevent colour fading.
Why are there different shapes?
Every pet eats differently. We design bowls tailored to their needs:
- Slow feeders for fast eaters
- Whisker-friendly bowls for cats
- Deeper bowls for long-eared dogs
What is a slow feeder?
A slow feeder contains raised ridges that slow down eating. Ideal for pets that eat too fast or benefit from more stimulation.
Are PINO bowls suitable for puppies and kittens?
Yes. Choose the appropriate size. Each product page includes a size guide.
What makes a bowl whisker-friendly?
Cat bowls are wide and shallow to avoid contact with sensitive whiskers—leading to more comfortable, stress-free eating.
Are your materials tested for safety?
Yes. All materials are tested for:
- BPA
- Phthalates
- Formaldehyde
- Lead
Pigments comply with REACH standards.
Why choose a premium bowl?
- Promotes healthy eating habits
- Reduces stress, gulping, or discomfort
- Built to last for years
- Supports social employment
