SHORT SNOUT, SLOW MEAL
French bulldogs, pugs, boxers, Boston terriers: plenty of appetite, not much snout. Many of them eat far too fast. A slow feeder helps, but a regular one is often too deep for a flat face. The snout cannot reach the food, and dinner turns into a struggle.
The Flat Slow Feeder keeps the obstacles low. A short snout reaches every bite, and your dog still has to slow down, without the frustration.
-
Low obstacles for a short snout
The rings inside are lower than in a regular slow feeder, so a flat face reaches the food all the way down.
-
Smaller bites, calmer meals
The rings split the food up, so your dog takes small bites instead of gulping it all down at once.
-
A little brain work
Finding every bite keeps your dog busy for longer. Mental stimulation, without the frustration.
-
Heavy enough to stay put
PINO Sandstone® does not slide or tip, even with an eager eater pushing it around.
Does your dog often vomit after eating, or have trouble breathing or digesting? See your vet first. The bowl slows down meals, it does not treat anything.
MADE FROM SAND, BUILT FOR DAILY LIFE
Every PINO bowl is made from PINO Sandstone®, our own material based on natural sand. It gives the bowl real weight, a soft stone look and a surface that stays fresh.
Plastic slides and scratches, ceramic chips, metal clatters across the floor. Sand does none of that. Each bowl is finished by hand in a social workplace in Belgium.

Why sand beats the usual bowl
Most bowls are made from plastic, ceramic or metal. Each has its weak spot. PINO Sandstone® was developed to avoid them, and the Flat Slow Feeder adds low obstacles made for a short snout.

Which dogs is this bowl for?
For dogs with a short, flat snout that eat too fast: French bulldogs, pugs, boxers, Boston terriers and other flat-faced breeds. If a regular slow feeder is too deep for your dog, this one is for you.
How is it different from your regular Slow Feeder Bowl?
The obstacles are lower, so a short snout can reach the food. The regular Slow Feeder Bowl comes in Small, Medium and Large. The Flat Slow Feeder comes in one size and goes on the Medium Tray for Dogs.
Will my dog get frustrated?
That is exactly what the low obstacles are for. Your dog has to work a little for every bite, but can reach all of it. Slower, not impossible.
Why does eating too fast matter?
Dogs that gulp often vomit or beg for more right after their meal. Eating too fast can also lead to bloating, weight gain or digestive problems. Worried about your dog? Ask your vet.
Kibble or wet food?
Both work. The bowl also goes in the fridge, handy if you feed raw.
Which bowl should I use for water?
A bowl without obstacles. The Classic Bowl in Medium fits on the same tray. Or take the wide, shallow Whisker Friendly Bowl: it is made for cats, and it is the bowl you see next to the Flat Slow Feeder in our photos.
Does it slide or tip over?
No. PINO Sandstone® is heavy, so the bowl stays in place, even with an eager eater. On the tray it sits in a recess, so it cannot move at all.
Can I raise the bowl?
Yes. Put it on the Medium Tray for Dogs with a second bowl, and add the Raised Tray Extension underneath. You choose from four heights: 11, 19, 23 or 30 cm, set by hand, no tools.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, at 30°C on the top rack. You can also put it in the fridge, handy if you feed raw.
How fast is delivery, and can I return it?
Orders ship on working days. Shipping is free over 100 euro in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg, and you can return within 14 days.
