About this bowl
Does your cat prefer to eat next to her food bowl rather than in it? Does your cat fish her kibble out of the bowl with her paw?
This is often due to whisker stress: in a regular, deep bowl, the sensitive whiskers rub against the rim. The Whisker Friendly Bowl is wide and shallow, so the whiskers remain free and your cat can eat and drink in peace. As a water bowl, it resembles a puddle of water, which encourages your cat to drink more.
Our food bowls are made from PINO Sandstone®, a strong and heavy material that keeps the bowl in place, prevents it from tipping over, and is hypoallergenic.

Made from PINO Sandstone®, our own material from natural sand. Heavy enough to stay put, hypoallergenic, and free from BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead.
Dishwasher safe at 30°C on the top rack. Fine for wet food, kibble or water, and it also goes in the fridge. Not suitable for the microwave. Every bowl is handmade in Belgium, so small differences in colour and texture are part of it.

Which cats is this bowl for?
For every cat, and especially for cats that eat next to their bowl, fish their kibble out with a paw or leave food behind. The wide, shallow shape keeps the whiskers free.
What is whisker stress?
Whiskers are sensitive. In a regular, deep bowl they rub against the rim at every bite, and many cats find that unpleasant. You may also hear it called whisker fatigue.
How do I know if my cat is bothered by it?
Watch how your cat eats. Eating next to the bowl rather than from it, or fishing kibble out with a paw, are typical signs. Is your cat eating much less or losing weight? Then see your vet first.
Can I use it as a water bowl?
Yes. Wide and shallow, it looks like a puddle of water, and that invites your cat to drink more. Take two, one for food and one for water, and put them on the Tray for Cats.
Is it good for wet food and kibble?
Yes. Wet food, kibble or water, it all works.
What is the difference between Solid and Marble?
Only the look. Solid is one even colour, Marble has a marbled finish. The shape and the material are the same.
Does it slide or tip over?
No. PINO Sandstone® is heavy, so the bowl stays in place, even when a paw gets involved. On the Tray for Cats it sits in a recess, so it cannot move at all.
Can I raise the bowl?
Yes. Put it on the Tray for Cats and add the Raised Tray Extension underneath, with four heights to choose from. The lowest position suits most cats, and it already makes a clear difference for older cats that would otherwise crouch over their bowl.
Is the material safe for my cat?
Yes. PINO Sandstone® is hypoallergenic and free from BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead. It does not hold smells, so the bowl stays fresh from one meal to the next.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, at 30°C on the top rack. It also goes in the fridge. Not suitable for the microwave: our natural material does not like it too hot.
