About this bowl

Many cats eat faster than you might think, which can lead to vomiting, boredom, or weight gain. The PINO Slow Feeder Cat Bowl features raised rings that help your cat take smaller bites and provides mental stimulation. The shape is wide and shallow, so that the whiskers remain free and help prevent whisker stress.
Our food bowls are made from PINO Sandstone®, a strong and heavy material that keeps the bowl in place, prevents it from tipping over, and is hypoallergenic.

Material and care
Made from PINO Sandstone®, our own material from natural sand. Heavy enough to stay put, hypoallergenic, and free from BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead.
Dishwasher safe at 30°C on the top rack. Fine for wet food, kibble or water, and it also goes in the fridge. Not suitable for the microwave. Every bowl is handmade in Belgium, so small differences in colour and texture are part of it.

How does it slow my cat down?
Raised rings inside the bowl hold the food in smaller portions. Your cat has to work around them, so it takes smaller bites and eats more slowly.
My cat throws up after eating. Will this help?
If your cat throws up because it eats too fast, slower eating can help. Vomiting can have other causes too, so if it happens often, see your vet first.
Does it help against weight gain?
Eating too fast can lead to weight gain, and this bowl helps your cat eat at a calmer pace. It is not a diet on its own: ask your vet about the right amount of food.
Will my cat get frustrated?
It is a little puzzle, not a locked box. The bowl is wide and shallow, so your cat can reach the food between the rings, and the whiskers stay free.
Can I use wet food and kibble?
Yes, both work. The food goes between the rings, wet or dry.
What about water?
For water, take a Whisker Friendly Bowl. It is wide and shallow like a puddle, which invites your cat to drink. Both bowls fit on the Tray for Cats.
Does it slide or tip over?
No. PINO Sandstone® is heavy, so the bowl stays in place, even when a paw gets involved. On the Tray for Cats it sits in a recess, so it cannot move at all.
Can I raise the bowl?
Yes. Put it on the Tray for Cats and add the Raised Tray Extension underneath, with four heights to choose from. The lowest position suits most cats, and it already makes a clear difference for older cats that would otherwise crouch over their bowl.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, at 30°C on the top rack. It also goes in the fridge. Not suitable for the microwave: our natural material does not like it too hot.
